Firstly, we will assess the wood to determine the most suitable level of cleaning or stripping for your needs.

Next, we will outline the scope of the project to ensure you fully comprehend the work that will be performed.

If cleaning is the chosen option, we will proceed to soft power wash the areas that require cleaning. Sometimes, sanding is necessary for the areas that need sealing. However, stripping is required for other areas. If we opt for stripping, the process will include soft power washing, applying the stripper, another soft power wash, application of a brightener, yet another soft power wash, sanding of the areas to be sealed, and then finally, applying the finish using a spray, roll, or brush.

It is important to note that there are two types of sealers available:

acrylic-based and oil-based. Both sealers are available in solid base, semi-transparent, transparent, and semi-solid finishes, with a wide range of colors and stains. The finish of the sealer depends on the amount of pigment present in the stain. The more pigment, the longer the finish will last. Clear sealers have a shorter life span. Semi-solid and solid stains tend to hide more of the grain, while semi-transparent and transparent stains allow the wood grain to appear more natural. We will provide samples to ensure your satisfaction and share our knowledge with you so that you know precisely what you will receive.

The acrylic-based sealers attach to the wood's outside grain and provide a longer-lasting finish. On the other hand, the oil-based sealers penetrate the wood and offer a more natural appearance. Both sealers have their benefits, and it is essential to note that acrylic-based sealers are cleaned using soap and water, while oil-based sealers require paint thinner for cleanup.
